Affordable domestic appliances are, too often, a mess of hundreds of components, the disassembly and repair of which is inaccessible for the average consumer, contributing to the 62 million tonnes of e-waste produced globally every year.
Utilising Bang Creation’s ‘Wheel of Innovation, I redesigned the iron in a way that extends its lifecycle and feeds back into the circular economy. Induction heating enhances energy efficiency whilst the use of sustainable, durable materials enables longevity.
